It removes oxidation and prepares copper, lead, brass, tin, stainless steel, cast and wrought iron for the proper bonding of solder to metal to assure leak tight joints. Used as directed, it won't burn, char or spatter/ It works well with the new low lead brass and bronze alloys, including the silicone family of metal alloy products. Meets the requirements of the Federal Safe Water Drinking Act. Application After cutting, reaming and cleaning the pipe, apply a small amount of FLUX to male pipe end. Assemble pipe and fitting, making sure tube is seated in fitting. A slight twisting motion ensures even flux coverage. Remove excess flux from joint exterior. Promptly proceed with soldering in the usual manner. Excess flux should be wiped off right away after soldering. Flush system with water to rinse away any residue. A flushable flux that meets the ASTM B-813 standard.
