Manufacturer: Field Controls
Field Controls 46487201 GVD-7PL 24V 7" Automatic Vent Damper For Gas Systems Model # GVD-7PL Pipe Size 7" FEATURES OF THE GAS VENT DAMPERS Gas Venting Dampers works automatically to allow natural draft during appliance operation while preventing residual appliance heat and conditioned air from escaping during off cycles. It also prevents the infiltration of cold air during down drafts. Field Controls gas venting dampers (GVD) are made of stainless steel material and are available in 8 common sizes, 4″, 5″, 6″, 7″, 8″, 9″ 10″ and 12″. Dual safety switches on the gas vent dampers allow the burner to fire only when the damper is in the open position. The GVD, gas venting damper, will not interfere with existing appliance safety controls, when properly installed. We recommend that this appliance only be installed by a licensed professional to ensure safety and performance. HOW DO THE GAS VENTING DAMPERS WORK? The gas venting damper is installed in the vent pipe, after the draft hood, or draft control. During off cycles, it remains in the closed position, preventing air flow through the vent. When there is a call for heat, the motor is energized, rotating the damper 90 degrees to an open position. Opening and closing h damper takes approximately 15 seconds. When the damper is fully open, the burner is allowed to fire, and flue gases pass freely through the vent. When the thermostat is satisfied, the burner stops, and the damper automatically closes. For service and troubleshooting, the damper can be locked in the open position. *Please note that wiring harnesses are sold separately. Check with your local distributor. Gas vent dampers should be installed by a licensed contractor. Find a contractor in your area by visiting our contractor location page. We offer a full line of gas, oil and coal dampers. HIGHLIGHTS OF THE GAS VENTING DAMPERS - PERFORMANCE: Gas Vent Dampers operate with all 24 VAC, 60hz intermittent and standing pilot ignition systems. - LESS COSTLY: Stainless steel construction provides superior corrosion resistance. - SAFE: Safety switch allows the burner to fire only when the damper is in the open position.
