4001 APRILAIRE SADDLE VALVE 4001 This Aprilaire Humidifier Saddle Valve (Aprilaire 4001) is used with the Aprilaire 4040 Humidifier Solenoid Valve in numerous Aprilaire humidifier models. The Aprilaire Saddle Valve is a self tapping water valve component which attaches to the water line and supplies the necessary amount of water to your Aprilaire humidifier with copper tubing to the Aprilaire solenoid valve. The Aprilaire 4001 saddle valve replacement is designed to either be open or closed and does not regulate the flow of water. This Aprilaire humidifier saddle valve component should replaced as needed to maintain your Aprilaire humidifier. It is recommend that installation of the Aprilaire saddle valve be done by a professional to prevent the possibility of water leakage and/or electric shock. The valve is self-piercing, and straps onto copper pipes sized between 1/2 inch (minimum) and 1 1/4 inches (maximum). A 1/4 inch copper tube can also be connected to the valve with a compression connection. For optimal performance, it is important to replace the saddle valve if it is leaking or damaged.
